Our story
In December of 2015, Calvin found a Groupon deal that would change his life forever. "$9.99 for 3 months of Match.com!" Always a sucker for a good deal, Calvin signed up. Shortly after, a dime-piece with username Lorac777 found Calvin's profile and sent him a profound, thought-provoking message that would capture his attention for the rest of his life. Even Lorac777 didn't realize the impact her message would have.
"Hi :)"
Calvin was smitten and turned his game all the way up to find the best way to respond.
"Hi. I'm 6'5" and I have a french bulldog. :)”
Somehow it worked, and Carol & 𝖱̶𝗈̶𝗌̶𝖼̶𝗈̶𝖾̶ Calvin began their long distance relationship between Long Beach and Mar Vista.
4 years, 20 trips, and 8 countries later, Calvin proposed to Carol in the mountains of Malibu...
The proposal
it was the Friday before Carol’s birthday weekend in 2019. Calvin told her he had dinner reservations, so to be ready by 5pm.
But he had a strange request: “dress nice, but don’t wear a dress. Wear nice shoes, but something comfy and no heels.” — What the bak?!
To Carol’s surprise, Calvin had a helicopter ready to take them on a tour of Los Angeles for her birthday.
after flying from Santa monica to downtown and through hollywood, they flew back to the coast and over malibu, where they found a mountain top to land.
Calvin jumps out the helicopter and almost vomits — he’s not nervous. you’re nervous. he says it’s because of motion sickness. (sure!)
After pouring some champagne, they stop to take in the beautiful Malibu sunset. and Calvin prepares to pop the question…
